AMERICAN ANNEXATION IM
PROBABLE,
San Francisco, May 25. Ex-Representative Blount, sent as a Commissioner from Washington to inquire into the causes of the recent revolution at tho Islands, has been appointed MiniHterRosidonb at Honolulu, vice, Stevens recalled. Tho appointment of Blount is direct evidence that tho democratic administration is positively opposed to annexing Hawaii to tho United States, as he has undone all the acts in that direction by ex-Prcsi-Harrison and his Secretary of State, Foster, bofore the chango of partjss in power at Washington was made. Of course Blount wa9.inspired from Washington all through, and oqually, ot course, add tho Annexionisbs, he went down to Hawaii as a judgo, whose decision was written before he had heard any testimony.
