,i?HE following tenders for pipes, special castings, lead, and other material for the pipe track were opened to-day :— (lj T. S. Morr'in and Co. : Eight inch pipes, £5 los lid per ton.; 4, 5, & 6 inch pipes, £5 Is 7d per 'ton ; lead, £11 16s. Sundry materials as per schedule, £169 33 fid. (2) B. Porter and Co.—Bin pipes, £6 9s f d iper ton; 4in, sin, and 6in pipes. £5 193 per ton ; lead, £12 7s 6d per ton; BunoYy materials, £18115s per ton. (3) Ross and Ansenne.— Sin pipes, £6 83 6d per ton ; 4in, bin, and 6in pipes, £6 8s ifid per ton ; lead, £11.12s per ton j sundry materials, £174 per ton. (4) John Burns and Co. — 4in, sin, 6in, and Sin pipes, £6 2s per ton ; lead, £12 per ton; sundry materials, £189 per ton. (5) Wingate and Co.—4, 5, 6 and S-inch pipes, £6 ]la 6d per ton ; lead, £12; sundry materials, £178 los lOd. (R) Burns, Fhelp and Co., Sydney Lump sum for the whole of the material for pipe track, £6,070. The whole of tho tenders were referred to tho tsngineor to report on to a special meeting of the Council to bo held this erecing.
