FROM THE LOG BOOK

Sydney, June 15,

The log book of the briganbine Sauc y Jack, which came ashore near Goofs' Harbour, states that she had experienced heavy squalls. The last entry is to the effect) thab a strong breeze was blowing, with a naety sea.

At this time the vessel must have been forty miles away from where she carno ashore.

There ia bub little doubt the crew perished at sea. The hull is insured in the Standard and New Zealand offices for £1,500, a portion of which is re-insured.
