Paimerston North, this day. Captain Russell delivered a politica address at Palmerston North last) night to a largo audience upon similar lines to his Hastings speech. Captain Russell was listened to attentively throughout. At the close Mr Pirani moved a vote of thanks and confidence in the Government, to which Mr Shelson moved an amendment, "That a vote of thanks to the speaker be accorded." The amendment was carried by a large majority. Mr Pirani then moved a vote of confidence in the Government, which was also declared carried.
