Slmckelford presented a Pfjtifciun from a number of ratepayers requestinK that a lamp be placed at tho corner of Mackolvie-street. and nlso at the comer of Pollen-street. Ho said that he could hardly support the prayer of tho
petition, and suggested that instead a lamp should be erocted at the corner of Pollensfcreet and Williamson's Avenue. This was put to the meeting and agreed to. Cr. Donald moved that a lamp bo erected at the east end of tho Cox's Creek bridge, provided the Gas Company were prepared to lay tho mains free of charge. This was agreed to.
