A series of paintinps in oil of the leading ponies which took part in tho polo matches recently, wore exhibited to-day in the window of Upton and Co., Queen-street, and attracted a good denl of attention. They are the work of Miss M. E. Morton, whose skilful work as a painter of animals displayed in exhibits at the Art Society's exhibitions and in contributions to tho pages of tho Now Zealand "Graphic," have boon greatly admired, Miss Morton is now engaged in painting some of the principal horses in ttio Wellington Park atnd. Tho polo ponioa exhibited at Upton and Co.'s have been executed, with eoveral others, to the order of the ownors. They compriee s—Chrisfccburch : Mr W F M.
