MATCHES TO-MORROW.

No leas than three senior mabches will be played -%b Epsom to-morrow, and each promisos to bean interesting game. Much concern is being taken in the SuburbsCity match, which will be played on the ground in front ot the stand. Neither team have yet been defeated. Parnell and Ponsonby will meet for the firsb time this season on No. 2 Ground, while Newton and Grafton play on No. 3 Ground. Aba meeting of the Rugby Union last evening tbe protest of Ponsonby 11. againsb Grafton 11. on the grounds of the latter playing two recognised seniors, was dismissed.

Mr C. Hosketb, one of tbe vice-presidents of the Auckland Rugby Union, presided over the firsb monthly meeting of delegates. The principal business was the question of tbe Union appointing referees for the various matches each week. After considerable discussion, it was resolved, upon the motion of Mr T. Henderson, " That the various clubs be requested bo approve of the Committee of the Unionappointing referees, and that each club be requested to aubmib the names of persona whom they consider eligible, and who are willing to act;_ such pereons to be approved by the Committee." Mr Dixon commented on the delay in commencing the matches each week, and gave notice that at the next monthly meeting he would move as follows :—" That all cup matches shall be commenced not later than three o'clock. In tho event of a team nob beiug prepared to commence play at that time, it shall be hold to have losb the match." Tho match between the Huntly and Hamilton clubs takes place at Ngaruawabia to-morrow. This contest is always looked forward to in tho Waikato as the match of the aea3on. Mr F. A. Twiname will leave by to-morrow's train to officiate as referee in the game.
