NORTHCOTE.
The annual meeting of householders in the above district was held at the school last evening. Ovor thirty woro present, and Mr J. Barber occupied tho chair. Tho reporb read by Mr Cadness stated tho receipts for tho year wero £35 3s 3d, and tho payments £18 18s 6d, leaving a balance in hand ol £16 4s 9d. Whilst the examination report spoko of fair progress arid tho satisfactory tone of the discipline and behaviour, Mr Fidlor complained of irregular abtendance. The number on bho roll on the 31st March was 136, the avoragoattendar.ee 91, and tho percentage of passes 72. This was slightly bslow last year, which was probably accounted for by tlio disorganisation consequent upon thechangesof teachers. The reporb referred to the honour conferred upon Mr Fidler by tho invitation to tho International Congress of Education at Chicago and to accept bhe sfalun of an lion. vice-president. Considerable improvements had been effecbod during bhe year. The reporb and accounts having been adopted,"the election of a School Committee for the ensuing year was conducted by ballot, and the following candidates wore elected, tho order given indicating their position on tha poll, viz Messrs Herbert. Cadness, Alex. Bruce, George Low, .Win Stanley, William Tugby, James Bent Warner, Robert G. ilawcs. Ab bho first meeting of the new Committeo Mr Alexander Bruce was elected chairman and Mr 11. Cadness soerotary.
