A shipwreck is a frightful experience. To hear the wind whistle, the timber croak and crash, tho cordage strain, tho sailors swear, and the women scream, tremble, and run hither and thither liko maniacs, is enough to appal tho bravest hearb. Yet, with all its terrors, death by shipwrock is not half so terrible aa the slow and insidious course of disease, which for the latter year 3 of the stricken one's lifo makog existence a misery, not only to the vicbiin bub to all around him. With such terrible facts staring us in tho face, how careful we [ should be to preserve that blessing of Providence, health and strength. Koto should be taken of the first signi of disease. A simple headache is an infallible sign that tho liver and stomach are disordered; frequent) toothacho ami neuralgia indicate infallibly that tho norvous system is becoming enervated ; that tired feeling is proof nositive that strength is failing. There are hundreds of such symptoms which should have immediate treat- i ment. Clements' Tonic fortifies the blood, j and builds up nerve tissue; it is the | greatest regulator of tho systom over intru- j duced, and thousands of grateful sufferers i testify to this fact. For instance, Miss Frances M. Cairns, Glengarry, Vie, writes : —I havo much pleaauro in testifying to the curative powers of Clements' Tonic. I had suffered from liver complaint and indigestion for some years ; but the latter became so bad early in 1891 that I was obliged to get leave of absence from my school duties for a month. I returned to work, bui was very little better. The most pronounced symptoms were sleeplessness and severe pain in the chest after eating the least morsel of food. This pain commenced in the chest, passed round the heart, and thence into my shoulder. 1 had read several of the testimonials re Clements' Tonic, and as yet i had not recoivc:! any lasting benefit from doctors, I decided to try it. By the tiiao I had taken ono small bottle I was very much better. The pain was less, I could sleep at least part of the night, and I was nob troubled with the horrible dreams that had haunted me when asleep. I continued taking it. and by the time 1 had taken throe small bottles the pain was gone, and tiie other symptoms with ib. i-iince then 1 have had one bad attack, during last Christmas vacation. I again took Clements' Tonic, and soon became quito well. Since then 1 have not had any return of the indigestion, and at this present time I feel much bettor than I have done for years. I have mo hesitation in saying that Clomouts' Tonic cured me. I was very ill, so ill that 1 could not havo lived_ long in the state I was in, and here I am to-day, well and strong, with a good appetite, and able to enjey a good night's rest, all of which I owo to Clements' Tonic. I tirsfa took it about this time last year. I might say, in conclusion, that I vva3 very prejudiced against what some folks call "quack mer'ieinos." I had always called in medical aid.—l remain, yours most thankfully, Frances M. Cairns, Glengarry, Victoria.
