MASONIC.
The annual installation of tho Whangarel Lodge took place in the Masonic Hallon April 7th. Bra' J. H. McKenzie, W.Mr, in the chair, officiated a3 the installing master, assisted by P.M.'s Bros. A Hansen, D. McLeod, and H. H. Sissons. Bro. T. McClintock, W.M. elect, was presented by Bro. D. McLeod. P.M., and duly installed .ii the chair of King Solomon according to ancient custom. The following are the office-bearers for the ensuing year : —Bro. T. McClintock, W.M.; Bro. J. IT. McKenzie, 1.P.M.; Bro. H. S. Bill, S.W. : Bro. George Stewart, J.W. ; Bro. W. A. M. Bain, Treasurer ; Bro. H. IT. Sissons, Secretary; Bro. C. Eyles, S.D. ; Bro. N. McKer.zie. J.D. ; Bro. J. Brook, J.G. ; Bro. A. Peterson, Tyler. Tho Lodge was closed in peace and harmony at 10 p.m.
Several Auckland brethren proceeded to the Thames to witness the installation of Bro. John Ross as W.M., and the investiture of officers of Lodge Corinthian, 1,655, E.G., for tho ensuing year, which took place in the Masonic Hall. Bro. W. Burton, P.M., was installing master, being assisted by Bro. J. P. Clark, D.G.S., and Bro. T. Wood, P.M. After Bro. Ross had been duly installed as W.M., ho invested his officers as follows:—l.P.M., Bro. W. H. Phillips; S.W., W. H. Burch ; J. W., J. E. Banks ; Chaplain, Rev. Dr. O'Callaghan ; Treasurer 11. P. Stark; Secretary, T. C. Bayldon, P.M. ; organist, M. Trewheela; D.C. E. Cartwrigbb; S.D., R. H. Ellis; J.D., A. Kummert; steward--, G. E. Wiggins and C. J. Bond; 1.G., W. Newman; tyler, F. R. G. Woodward. At the conclusion of the ceremony, the retiring W.M., Bro. W. 11. Phillips was presented with a Past Master's jewel, which bore the following inscription : " Presented to Brother W. IT. Phillips, P.M., by the brethren of the Corinthian Lodge, 1655, E.C., llth April, 1893."
