QUEEN'S COLLEGE SPORTS
We gave lasb night some of the events in Dr. McArthur's Queen's College Sports. The following were decided after we went to press :—
Half-mile Handicap (open).—YV. Lowrie, 30yd8, 1; A. Langdale, 50yds, 2; J, Walker, 25yde, 3. Time, 2min I7sec. There was a close finish between Lowrie and Langdale.
80 Yards Manx Race (under 14).— H. Gorrie and John Donald, syds, 1; H. Vickerman and D. Vickerman, 6yds, 2. School Cup Handicap, 220 yards, second event.—C. Cameron, 10yds, 1; A. Close, 7yds, 2 ; B. Shera, 6yds, 3. Time, 26aec. There was a very exciting finish. Tug-of-War (Juniors).—After a game struggle in the final pull, J. Tbomeon's team won.
Pole Jump (Open).— R. Cockrofb, 1. 120 Yards College Handicap (under 12). —Second Event: D. Nathan, 15yds, 1; J. Sharland, Byds, and J. Frater, syds, 2. Won easily. Time, 14"jsec. 80 Yards Sack Race (under 16).— Won easily by H. Goldie ; L. Beale, 2. 75 Yards School Championship (Open).— B. Shera, 1; B. Nashelski, 2 ; A. Bollard, 3. Time, 8 3-sth sec.
220 Yards Tricycle Handicap (Juniors).— Jno. Donald, syds, 1; C. Buddie, 30yds, 2; Frank Binney, syds, 3. Time, 38sec. Buddie was just beaten at the post. High Jump (Open). — Won by B. Nashelski; height 4 feet 7 inches. High Jump (Under 15) -. Won by A. Close ; height 4 feet 2 inches.
Long Jump (Open).—Won by R. Cockroft; length 16 feet 2 inches. 200 Yards College Handicap (under 16), Second Event.—G. McGregor, 9yds, 1; C. Cameron, 9yds, 2; V. Casey, 4yds 3. Time. 24sec.
120 Yards Hurdle Race Handicap.—B. Shera, owes Byds, 1; C. Cameron, 7ydß, 2 ; W. Lowrie, owes syds, 3. Time, 18Jsec. A well-contested race.
200 Yards College Handicap (under 14), Second Event.—J. Frater, 22yds, 1; C. Banks, 20yds, 2; H. Butt, 25yds 3. Time, 27sec.
