MIDNIGHT PROCESSION,
THE AGENTS-GENERAL AND THE
LORD MAYOR.
London, December 1. One thousand unemployed assembled at «, to PI -V midnighb > and marched to the West End, where speeches of a violentcharacter were delivered. The procession was a harmless affair, the polioe having foroidden the men to carry torches. Mr W. B. Perceval, Sir E. C. N. Braddon, and Sir G. Fraser have expressed their willingness to confer with Lord Mayor knill with regard to his immigrabion scheme, reserving any action in bhe mabter unbil bhey have consulted their respective Governments.
Sir J. C. Bray, Agent-General for South Australia, declares that in his interview with a press representative, he statedjthat there was no opening for labourers in the colony he represents, bub bhe inberviewer reiterates thab Sir John encouraged a certain class bo immigrate.
