The Hon. W. P. Reeves paid a visit to the Institute for the Blind and the Costley Home, this morning. To-night a deputation of citizens will wait on Mr Reeveß with a request that he should address a public meeting on Friday next, and give Aucklanders an opportunity of hearing his views on labour legislation and other important questions. Mr Reeves is a fluent and interesting speaker, and there is sure to be a large attendance to hear him address the meeting.

The Pitt-street Wesleyan Church yesterday evening was crowded to the doors, and even the aisles, staircases, and ante-rooms were taken advantage of. Mr Jude presided ab the organ, and Mr Berry took advantage of the opportunity to refer in grateful terms to Mr Jude's kindness in again helping the church, which he had already done on two previous occasions, not only gratuitously, but without any desire for remuneration.
