PURGING THE ELECTORAL ROLLS.
CITY OF AUCKLAND.
A sitting of the Court under the "Registration of Electors' Act, 1879," was held this morning ab the R.M. Court, beforo l)r Giloß, to enable electors summoned to prove their right to hove their name retained on tho Electoral Roll for the City of Auckland. Mr A. R. T. Haultain, registration officor, appeared in support of the objections. Eighty-seven cases were dealt with. A number of persons had their names removed from the roll for insufficient description of the proporty. Several names wero allowed to romain on tho roll, the Registrar having mado soarch and found that the descriptions of the properties were correct.
Henry John Little, Union-street. Mr Little appeared, and said that he had resided in tho district for 17 years. Tho property was a freehold, and he had given all information at tho oilico six weeks ago. Tho name was allowed to remain on the roll.
