ROADS IN THE NORTH ISLAND,
(BY TELEGRAPH.—PRESS ASSOCIATION.)
Wellington, Friday. The Government have authorised an oxpondituro of about £8,000 on the construction of roads within tho North Island Main Trunk Railway area, in ordor to open up land for sale and settlement. The work of construction will be executed on tiio cooperative system, and will be pub in hand at an early date. Instructions have been given for tho construction of tho station ab Te Aro, Wellington. The work is to be undertaken at once, and tho line is expeered to bo open for traffic in a very shorb time.
