The Council invoke the patriotism of Uu people of New Zealand, in order to secure thcls zealous assistance in bringing intoactive operation throughout the colony a network of institutions co-operating for the accomplishment oi °bjccts deeply affecting the general weli-bei-ir. The direction of recent legislation and of that foreshadowed, is alarming enough to rouse the attention of iM those who pretend to a concern for the public welfare. The Council hope for hearty help and sympathy from all true colonists, antl trust thoy ivill sink minor difference;, and combine for the National good. Tub Objects of thk Association abb: 1. To create a national sentiment; and to form into on« solid body all those who object lo socialistic legislation. 2. To promotu reforms, economic, legislative, and oonstltutional: to protest a«i*in3t unduo interference with the rlshu&nd liberties of tho subject; and to oppose clans legislation. . S, To protest against any alteration of the land laws that tends to wards the destruction of freeholds, and to euooura.ee bona fidf ssttlumont. 4. To show tho fallacy of the principle that labour and capital are antagonistic; and to prove la the workiiis ms.n that hid worst onomy is tho agitator, who uses him only as a stepping stone to political power. 6. To secure prosperity and confidence, by opposing all experimental legislation which tends to check the legitimatu U3O of capital, causinK it to bo locked up or withdrawn from tho country, to the detriment of employer and employee. 6. To promote agricultural, mininfr, commercial ar:d manufacturing enterprise by removing all unnecessary obstacles to thejr development 7. To show the unfairness of laws so framedl that tho industrious and thrifty me hampered, and put on a level with the lazy and thriftless. 8. To promote round political economy; and to educate public opinion in the right direction, by disouminatinc literaturo giving sound reasons and arguments for our beliefs. 9. To register all members, and purge the Electoral Roll. 10. To return to Parliament capable and HOXOUKABLK MSN, who will resolutely oppose all tampcrinfc with tho public • -credit; and whose aim will not bo individual gain, but the welfare of the •WnOLE COLONT. The Council urge all sympathisers with tho foregoing objects to communicate with tha Secretary, MR JOHN HASVIE, at tbr ASSOCIATION'S ROOMS, 123, QUEEN-STREET, who will supply them with all information relating to the Association, and place them in the way of joining the Association, or establishing branches in their districts.
