Mr Harry Farman, an Englishman, has won the French Bicycle Championship. A Court Circular announces that Her Majesty the Queen had a sincere regard and great admiration for the late Lord Tonnyson. Horr Loewy, a Berlin banker, has been sentenced to 2£ years' imprisonment for fruadulent bankruptcy. Tho liquidator in the estate of the New Oriental Bank Corporation announces that he will pay the creditors a dividend of 4s in tho £1 about the middle of January next.
Mr Thomas Woolmer, R.A., sculpbor, aged 66, has died from hearb disease ; also the Very Rev. Dr. E. Bickersteth, Dean of Lichfield, aged 78. Tho editor and assistant editor of the "Pall Mall Gazette " have resigned, owing to their disliking tho change in the policy of tho paper. The Tabernacle requests the Rev. T. Spurgoon to succeed the Rev. Dr. Pierson in Juno for six months, when a definite selection will bo made.

Prosident Carnot has pardoned sixty of the rioters.
