The Primitive Methodist Band of Hope, Eden Terrace, met lasb evening, under the auspices of the Ladies' Sewing Meeting. The choir was occupied by Mrs Kerr, Miss Frith presided at the harmonium. Programme :—Hymn, Sankey, 33; prayer, Miss F. Frith; hymn 42 ; recitabion, Miss Anne Moore; recitation, Misa R. Moor; duet. Misses Herbert; recitation, Miss Maggie Herbert; reading, Miss Olphert; recitation, Miss Ruth Jones; song, Mrs Hodgson ; recitation, Mrs Wheatley; recitation, Miss Isa Lovie; dueb, Misses Herbert and Moor ; recitation, Miss B. Cook ; recitation, Miss Mr Rix; song, Miss Fribh; reading, Misa E. Moor ; recitation, Miss Jones ; recitation, Miss Olphert; song, Miss H. Herbert; address, Mrs Kerr. Mr Herbert moved, and Mr Kerr seconded, a vote of thanks to the ladies who had carried out the programme so successfully. The meeting closed by the singing of the Doxology.

At a meeting of the Parnell School Committee, held last evening, the Committee passed a resolution heartily congratulating Miss Barlow on her success with the teaching of third standard.

Our readers and the community generally will be glad to learn that Mr Ballanco is this morning reported as somewhab better and is greatly cheered by the general sympathy.
