ENGLAND AND AFGHANISTAN.
THE PROPOSED MISSION
Calcutta, September 6. The Anglo-Indian press condemns the despatch of a mission to the Ameer, and predicts lor it the fate which befell Sir Louis Cavagnari in 1879, when he and his escort were murdered. The British are occupying the Kuram" Valley, and will assist the Ameer to restore order.
