ASSAULTING A DETECTIVE.
«tCHAE& Rvan appeared on remand at the folice Court this morning before Dr. J. Jil6B, R.M., to answer to the charge of 'wing unlawfully assaulted Detective "ward Hughes on Saturday night in HobjWStreet, and causing him grievous *% harm. Inspector Broham conducted the case for *« prosecution. Edward Hughes deposed that on Satur*7; night aboub 7.15 o'clock he was totting down Hobson-street when he met *'prißoner near Miller and Hardy's tailor's p^ Prisoner said, "Hughes, you're an HWi Informer," and then struck witness "w a stick on the right shoulder, and folded it with a violent blow over the right Wow.
