Hamilton, thi3 day,
Tho liamiiton-lluntly football match on Saturday resulted, as I predicted it would tin, in a very close finish, Hamilton winning by ono point, scoring ten poinos against Huntly's nine. Peacock, for Hamilton, got a try two minutes after the start of tho Eaiuo. Hammond failed fco convert. Hunt-ly who were playing with the wind, which was a groat factor in the game throughout, penned Hamilton for the balance of the first spell, and Dansey potted a goal from tho iield and also kicked a goal from a penalty kick. Sampson gob a try, which Ditiißey failed to convert, and tho first spell ended :—Hun try, 9 ; Hamilton, 2. Toward* i,!io end oi the first spell Mr Crowe, referee, ordered Harrison, ono of the Hamilton forwards, oft the field for disputing hia decision. In the second spell Hamilton, with the wind bohind them, had the best of the game all through, and scored eight points, thus winning the caps for 1892. Bert Hume got a try, which Hammond converted, Hammond also kicking a goal from a penalty kick from about the half way flag. The game all through was a fast one, and was played in good spirit—better by far than any previous contest between theso toam?. No one was injured, and everyone was satisfied with the Jfcferee.
