CHRISTCHURCH NOTES.
Mr W. Adams, who has been on a visit to Christchurch in company with Mr C. F. Mark, the Secretary of the Auckland Trotting Club, tells me thab he spent a happy time looking over bhe Riccarton racecourse and some of the atable3 in bhe vicinity, while he also journeyed to Yaldhurst. Ab the labter braining establishment he saw Medallion, the winner of the Great Northern Derby of 1891, #nd whose
racing career has now ended. This season the colb is to perform stud duties. Mr Stead has a number of promising juveniles, bub the finesb of bhem all in Mr Adams opinion is the Trenton—Sapphire colb, whom he describes as greatly resembling his sire in looks. The colb is a big fellow, and may not be raced next season. Mr Adams epeaks highlyof Lochiel'sstock.and was well pleased wibh a youngster by this sire oub of Marion, who promises to race early. Stepniak was looking a picture of health. I was glad to hear from my informanb thab Mason's healbh waß good so far this winter. E. Cubts has a full stable, and Mr Adams thinks thab the colt Lake Shell is deserving of all the good things said about him.
