V'aPEW ov THE Gr ape (B.B.).—This has Riven I know, a scat deal of trouble to those who try to grow vines in tho open air here, but thavo never seem any good remedy for it as yet. The following I give you from an American paper, and it may bo of some use \ 'fcrv° u totl 'y ]t next season:—'Tho mildew W of the grape, which has been of groat trouble to grapo growers and has done great • injury in tho Southern States, has, TVitliinthe last three or four years, come into Canada, and as it may, unless checked, give tis a K roat cleal ol " trou ble for a good many jears, it has been thought woll to try cxnerimonts for conlrolling it. AYe have been able to take advantage of the studies of Prolessor Scribnor and Mr Galloway, of Washington, and tho results they have arrived at The treatment recommended is this : Carbonate of copper, 2 ounces; ammonia, li pints to 25 gallons of water. Three or four applications, two weeks apart, sprayed over the vines from the time tho flowers show, is very effective.
