FIRE AT ONEHUNGA.
Last night about half pa«fc eighb o'clock, a fire occurred un tho premises of Mr William Stevenson, Upper Quconstreet. The premises were used for a photographer's studio. Mrs Robinson appears to have first observed the flamed, and cried oub "fire." Messrs Vaupo and Bullcraigi with othort), at once broke into tho buildand used tho available water near the premises, which soon suppressed the flames. Sergeant Greene and Constable Tapp, and also tho Fire' Brigade, wero soon on the spot). The studio was situated between the Public Hall and the "Manukau Gazette" office, and clopo to a large block of building, which wore, by the prompt action of tho neighbours, saved. The building, which is not much injured, ie injured in the Royal tor £70, but it it not ascertained if the contents are insured or not. Mr W. Stevenson, who lives at Hillsboro', was soon on tho spot, but can throw no light upon the occurrence, the shop having been closed by Miss M. Stevonson at 3.30 yesterday afternoon.
