Last night, nominations for the two rich stakes offered by the Auckland Racing Club for their Winter Meeting fell duo. The Hurdle Race has attracted an entry of thirty-seven, which must be considered exceedingly satisfactory, but the Great Northern Steeplechase has not filled

up so well, and a prize of 400sovs might have been expected to attract a much larger list, only twenty-throe horses being entered. Mr Evetb issues his handicaps on the 10th May.
