Consols.—Cleaning up and retorting for (his Company took pLico yesterday, tor a yield of 77ozs lOdwfc gold from 72 loads quartz.

Lone Hand.—A party of tributors have banked 105oz gold from ;S3 loads quartz. Alfred Uonway and party, proprietors of this mine, yesterday finished crushing ]0 loads of quartz from tho winze in the upper level for the handsome yield of 880/, of gold. This is the result of threo weeks' work. Shkridan's CiiATM (Tapu).—Crushing of 0 loads yielded llooz of goid. Section 50 of the new Mining Act provides , that miners employed as wages men or working as tributers on nativo lands must be holders of a miner's right to the value of 2()s. The Mining Inspector has addressed a circulur to all mine managers which says : " Will you ktadly direct at.tontion of all wages men and tributers working 011 native land, included in your mine, to tho provisions of nec Lion 50 of tho Mining Act, and inform them that 1 shall visit your mine on the 27th May and inspect the miners' rights of wages men and tributors. I would also draw your attention to the provisions of rule 40 of general rules under that Act."
