WAIKATO NOTES.

Hamilton, Thursday. At Mr McNicol's cattle salo yesterday, at Rangiriri, about 350 cattlo were yarded, and nearly all were sold. Prices for young stock aro still high, and well grown steers, fit for turnips, realised good prices. Calves from 16s to 21s, according to quality. Stores, from two to three year?, ran £2 9s to £5 10s ; nearly all yarded wore sold.

At the Hamilton Borough yards yesterday, 220 head of cattle were yarded. Calves ; brought from 10s to 21s, one lob of 40, bred ', at Tauwhare, bringing the latter price. I Frosli stores, from two and a half to three ! years old, brought from £'2 10s to £5. Milch ' cows sold well, averaging from £3 10s to £5 2s 6d ; one cow, near calving, being withdrawn at £7 7s. About 40 cows, near calving, were sold. Sheep were yarded in Email numbers, for butchers only; fab ewes, very old, brougkt 8s 6d : younger sorts, 9s. A few horsos wero sold, and realised jjood prices. Good spring trap maro, £22 ; spring trap, £7 10s ; hacks, £3 to £7. Pigs wore yarded in gpod numbers, and sold freely at fair prices, small porkers fetching froia 5» to Bs, according to quality. Tho weather is extremely cold, with frost last night, and another promising to-nigho. The Chrysanthemum Show ab Cambridge promises to be a great success, the entries being wonderfully large. Tho prizes will be awarded to-morrow.
