THE MAMARI.

Tho Shaw, Savill and Albion Company's fine cargo steamer Mamari, 2,349 tons, Captain Joseph Maxwell, arrived yesterday morning and anchored in the stream, 59 days out from London, via Teneriffc, Capetown, and Hobart, with a full cargo of general merchandise for New Zealand ports. The captain reports : Steamer left London February 16th and anchored in the river for the night. She got uuder way again next morning, had compasses adjusted off tho Tongue Lightship, and landed the pilot at Dover on the same day. Down the channel strong westerly gales, accompanied with a blizzard, were encountered. To Tenoriffe, which was reached on February 25th, a succession of south-westerly gales were experienced. After coaling, the steamer proceeded on her voyage the same afternoon, and fine weather prevailed until arrival at Capo Town, on March 15th. She coaled again hero, and left again next day, arriving ab Hobart on April Bth. Between the two latter ports, tho passage was characterised by strong westerly gales, accompanied with very high seas, the deck being frequently washed both fore and aft. After coaling, sho lefb nexb morning, and fine weather was experienced till Cape Maria Van Diemen was sighted on Thursday last, and from thence till arrival she had fresh N. and N.E. winds. Captain Maxwell, who is still in command, has with him the following officers :—Chief, Mr J. M. Roberts ; second, Mr J. Banks ; third, Mr C. Renaut ,* fourth, Mr Burns ; chief engineer, Mr Harvey ; second, Mr Munro ; third, Mr Scanblebury ; first refrigerating engineer, Mr McClew; second, Mr Carrie; purser, Mr Savill; chief steward, Mr Norman. The Mamari has under hatches about 5,000 tons of general cargo, 2,000 of which will be landed ab this port. She was berthed at tho outer western tee of the Queen-street Wharf yesterday, and the work of discharging was commenced first thing this morning. After loading cargo tor London tho stoamer proceeds to Wellington, Ijyttelton, and Port Chalmers. Messrs Cruickshank and Co. are tho local agents.
