Ab the annual meeting of tho Rugby Football Union lasb evening, Mr Junius Allen was re-elecbed President, and Messrs F. Thorne and J. H. Chapman Hon. Secretary and Treasurer respectively. It was decided to vote 20 guineas to the funds of the Technical Glauses Association. The only reference to the propoeed New Zealand Union was contained in the chairman's speech, and ho only remarked that the old committee had not eeon its way to fall in with the proposed constitution.

Christchurch, Wednesday,

The Canterbury Rugby Union to-night decided not to join the proposod Now Zealand Rugby Union, and instructed Mr ueorge Harris to proceed to Wellington to oppose its establishment.
