THE FINANCIAL COLLAPSES IN AUSTRALIA.

The "Financial Times," reviewing the financial collapses in Australia, states that the actual duties of the London directors of the institutions were small, and that they were only appointed for the purpose of attracting deposits.

The Sydney municipal loan of a quarter of a million at 4 per cent., with a minimum of 991 has been oversubscribed.
