This morning the locally-owned schooner Jessie Niccol, 93 to ns » Captain N. A.
Bertelsen, returnsd to port from the Hervey Group of Islands from her first cruiso for the South Pacific Trading Company, bringing back a cargo of ccpra, cocoanuts, cotton, beche-de-mer, etc. She has been away in the Islands cruising for over three months, which time her headquarters were Rarotonga, several visita_being paid bo bhe islands of Aibutaki, Mangaia and Manaai. After loading up she left Rarotonga on the 25th ult for Auckland, and made a good passage up to the New Zealand coast, holding moderate northerly and easterly breezes to long. 180deg., where strong head-winds set in.
