TAKAPUNA JOCKEY CLUB.
Daring the three days of the Takapuna Jor.key Club Summer Meeting, the sum of £11,155 passed through tho totalisator. The Government tax amounted to £167 3s 6d, which tho Club paid out of its own coders. I learn that, there will be a small
profit over the meeting, but of course not so large as it would have been had Hi per cent, been deducted from tho totalisator investments. Those who
eteer the fortunes of the popular marine I Club can congratulate themselves on making the gathering tho success ib was, but I think I'm expressing the opinion of a ■majority in saving that next season it Would be bettor for all parties interested if
the Summer Meeting was again cub down to two days. Ib is oub of all reason to have three days' racing in bhe course of a forbnighb ab a small place like the North Shore.
The winning payments in connection with tho meeting amounted to £1,369, Messrs Tonks, Bobbetb, and Burke being bhe three highest winners.
