JiJise Freda Marsden, violinist, is to give an open-air conceit this evening in the grounds at her residence, St. Barnabas Point, Parnell, being assisted by local artistes. This class of performance is a unique departure in Auckland. There will be aancing on the lawn after the concert Sβ over.

Captain Kohn, the Auckland member of the Council of the N.Z. Rifle Association, has convened a meeting of the local members of ths Association for Friday evening next to consider matters in relation to the approaching meeting of the Association at Wellington. Hβ also invites the attendance of members of Rifle Clubs and civilians who intend competing. It is expected that as the prizes this year are large and tho meeting at a convenient distance, Auckland will be well .represented.

The Rev. John Elmslie, M.A. and D.D., who has for the second time been elected Moderator of the Presbyterian Assembly, is a native of Aberdeen and is related So the late Professor Elmslie, one of the most remarkable men in connection with the Presbyterian Church of England, recently deceased. Dr. Elmslie is minister of St. Paul's Presbyterian Church, Christchurch, in which district he has been for some fifteen or sixteen years. He was previously in Wanganui for a number of years snd did excellent work there.

A fashionable wedding took place at 2 o'clock to-day in St. Sepulchre's Church, Kyber Pass, which attracted a large number of spectators. Tho bride was Miss K. Johnstone, daughter of Mr VV. Johnetone, manager of the New Zoalani Fibre Company, and the bridegroom Mr A. L. Edwards, of Messrs J. B. Gilfillan and Co.'s who is alao well-known in musical circles as one of our leading tenors. The Rev. J. Hazeldean performed the marriage ceremony, and the bridesmaids were Misses CSorrie, M. Upton, F. Johnstone, and M. Wright. As the bridal party left the church, tho organist played kite " Wedding March."
