LODGE EDEN.

PRESENTATION TO BRO. KITT.

A large number oi brethren and visitork attended the meeting of Lodge Eden, No. 20, N.Z.C., last evening, in the Masonic Hall, Earangahape Road. Lodges Ara, St. Andrew, and Poneonby, attended in regalia ; representatives were also presenb from several other lodges. Bro. Malcolm Niccol, Grand Superintendent, and the local officers of the Grand Lodge, were also present. Bro. Harry Robinson, Worshipful Master, presided, and initiated twocandidates in the E.A. degree. When the ordinary routine business had been transacted the W.M. made a presentation to P.M. Bro. T. VV. Kitt, who is leaving for England shortly, where he intends to remain. Bro. Kitt was initiated into Freemasonry in Eden Lodge; he has filled all the various offices,, and has been an energetic and hard working member up to tha presenb time. The token of the brethren's esteem took the form of a beautifullyframed shield containing the photographs of the officers and members of Lodge Eden. These are the work of Mr J. C. Morton, of Rarangahapo Road, and are really credit* able specimens of the photographic art. Appropriate remarks were made by Bros. Niccol, Cooper, and other Grand Lodge officers, all of whom expressed regret at tha departure of Bro. Kitt. The Grand Superintendent announced ta the Lodge that he had that evening received news of the death of the wife 'of P.M. Bro. T. W. Allen, and he tbougbb that there were a large number preeenb who personally knew Bro. Allen, and who would like to express their sympathy with him in his bereavement. After several of the brethren had done bo, it was proposed and seconded that a letter of condolence from Lodge Eden be sent to Bro. Allen. The Lodge was then closed in due form! and the brethren adjourned to the banquetting ball, where Bro. Kitt's beal#»-.->was drunk by all present. , im .,;..,v^1.
