Round the World in 63 Days.
Nowlsom Parham writes to the ' Times ' as follows: — 'It may, perhaps, be of intereab bo place on record the facb of a tour round the world having been made in sixty-three days. I have jusb received particulars of a lebber having accomplished bhis. The same left Yokohama, Japan, by s.B. Empress of Japan, on Augusb 19bh lasb, bound for Vancouver, and bhonce by Canadian Pacific Railway and s.s. Ciby of New York bo London, where bhe mail was delivered on bhe morning of September 9. The letter lefb London on September 11 via Brindisi, and arrived in Yokohama on October 20th lasb. Could any of your readers inform me whether the cbmplebe journey has ever been done in quicker time? If not, whab hibherto was the record ? Tho presonb is a good example of the importance of the Canadian Pacific route to the far East, and ib is only to be regretted that they have only a mail service every three or four weeks, againsb the weekly service via Brindisi and Marseilles respecbively, which occupies jusb aboub double as long bo Japan.
