Drunkenness.—One first offender was fined 58, or 24 hours in default.
Destitute Persons Act. — Thomas Ducketb was charged wibh having refused bo provide foi the support of the child of Margaret Ann Morgan.— Mr G. N. Brassey appeared for the applicant. —Mr C. E. Madden appeared for defendant, and said that the case had been adjourned to enable him to bring evidenco to support the defence, but circumstances prevented him from doing so.—Dr. Giles said that as the case rested there was ground for making an order. The defendant was pub in the box and deposed his wages were 15s per week. He had received a draft for £50 about 15 months ago from his father. He had since received £30. — Dr. Giles made an order for the payment of 7s per week, and costs incurred. — Thomas McGrath was ordered to pay 10s per week towards the support of , his mother who was a widow 65 years of age.— John O'Neill, charged with nob complying with an order to contribute towards the support of his children in the Industrial School.—Mr W. J. Napier appeared for defendant, and stated thab bhe man had paid when he could, bub was nob now in regular! employment. — Dr. Giles adjourned the caso in order that f«,*'.Jter inquiries might b« _>A;ic- I
