MYSTERIOUS DISAPPEARANCE.
A man named Robert Twelvetrees disappeared mysteriously from a gumdigsera' camp at Ruakuka on tho night of the 30ih of January. He is stated to have been of somewhab eccentric habits, and it is feared that something serious may have happened. He was last seen by bwo gurndiggers who slept in his tent on the night in question. They state that the man was ill, and they hoard him got up twice during tho night. They left early in the morning under the impression that the man was still in bed. As he did not appear later on, information was sent to Constable A'-rams. An examination showed that Twelvetrees' best cfothos wero missing, but his spade, spear, and about £1 worth of gum were untouched. Tho man was not unfriendly to anyone in bho district, consequently his disappearanco is not readily explained.
