from 18s to 19s ; cows, 14s to 10s the 1001bshcop abundant, abovo 1,000 yarded, but of very varying qualities, good wethers were bettor worth fully 6s each, and choice pens lambs were at 12s and 1 3s each ; aged ewes, from 3s, and rains from 12s to 20s each. A full market of wail-Jed porkers brought from Ss to 30s each.
Messrs Hunter and No la:; report thab tho rain has caused a little more animation in the demand for stores. Dairy stock were unaltered, and fat beasts advanced considerably in value, average numbers/of rill descriptions having been brought forward. There was a cood musber'nb both Newmarket on Tuesday and Papakura on Wednesday, and a strong demand existed for fat and store stock. The former advanced in value from Is to 2s per 1001b. Some averages of fat steers wore £7 14s, £7 ss, £7 4s 2d. £6 15s Bd, £5 12s 6d, £5 6s 3d. Cows :£4 15s, £4 os, £4 Is 9d, £3 12s 6d. Sheep : Both fat and store were in steady demand, bub prices generally were in favour of the vendor. Fat wethers sold at from 13s 9d to 15s ; ewes, 10s to 12s Gd ; lambs, 6s 6d to 13s 6d. Pigs scarce. Porkers sold up to 255.
Mr McNicol's ram fair yesterday, ab Oliaupo, was a success, nearly all the stock brought forward being sold. Prices were not up to last year's sale 3, bub then, tho quality was nob there, as I reported yesterday. Romney Marsh rams wore in favour, and the few yarded realised good prices, two from Mr Rutherford's, ab Bombay, bopping the market ab 6_ guineas. Other rams of tho same breed sold at 6 guineas. Generally speaking, the rams were cheap to the purchasers, and any breed could have been gob. Fair working rams, from 2 guineas bo 2:} or 3 guineas. Nearly all yarded were quieted. Many that were withdrawn at auction were quitted privately immediately afterwards. Taken altogether, the Fair has been very successful for young, good sorts, old stock being naturally hard to deal with.
