THE YIELD DISAPPOINTING.
FOUR MILLION BUSHELS BELOW
REQUIREMENTS.
Sydney, this day. The preliminary report of the Government Statistician on the wheat harvest is to the elTect that it is, generally speaking, disappointing. Tfao yield is cetimatecj at chree million nine hnndred thousand bushels, giviug an average of 12J bushels per acre The crops almost everywhere are reported too patchy, but the quality generally is good.
The prices range from 3a 9d to 4s 7d, but the average obtained by farmers is 4s 2d delivered.
It is estimated that the colony will have to import 3,| to 5 million bushels.
