Only half-pace work was indulged in this morning.
Nearly all the horses in the acceptance list will take part in the meeting. Prime Warden pus in a satisfactory gallop before daylight over the Cup distance. Cynisca strode nicely over the same distance, as did Cruchfield, both looking well. Boulanger did nob please soma of che touts by the way he pulled up. after a sound exercise gallop. The other Cup candidates, Thane, Weka, Pearl Powder, and Crown Jewel, pub in good work, but Awarua Rose looks on the big side. Krina, ©ith Hueriana wound up a strong gallop in fair ■ time. Tho others that went well in their work were Whisper, Regina, Beggarmanj St. Kathorine, King John, Mystic, Variety* and Ranee Nuna. ■Palliser, the last of the Cup candidates, arrived from Lyttelton this morning. THE BETTING. * r. Latest Cup quotations are as follows: r—s to 1 against: Prime Warden, Bouianger, Thane, Cruchfield, and Cynisca ; 8 to 1 Krina and Palliser ; 10 to 1 Weka ; 15 to 1 tho others.
