The first innings of the combined Australian team closed for 240 runs. Moses did not increase his score. Turner made 29. Sharp secured 6 wickets lor 84 runs, and Peel 3 for 54. The Englishmen in their first inniners made 243, the principal scorers Grace and Bean, 50 each ; Abel, 42 ; Briggs (nob out), 41; and M. Read, 36.
