TRAINING NOTES.
Some good solid work was gob through at Ellersiie this morning. A large number of " touts " watched fche proceedings. Lebel was again an absentee, and ig at Kohimarnara. ITraternite was galloped over the Cup distance before the stars were off the sky, and smart people say the connections of thocolt were pleased with the rosulb. Flinder& recorded a good gallop over a mile and a quarter on the plough. Tamar brought him home over the last three furlontjs. British Lion did slow work. Queen of Trumps is gaining admirers. She compassed two circuits on bhe plough, running the last round in lmin 55sec. Coalscuttle, Tho Workman, and Reprisal compassed a round on fche plough at top, of which Reprisal had the best. The Workman pulled up sound. Clanranald did strong work avid showed to advantage. Fishmonger, who never looked co well, did half-pace work. THE BETTING. Ib would seem that Lobel is likely to be a non-starter for the Cup. To-day, 8 to * was ofiered agaiusb him by the local pencillers. Mr R. Blaikie supplies us with the following quotations :— 6 to 4 against Hilda, 3 to 1 against Fraternite, 5 to 1 again&b British Lion, 6 to 1 igainsb Queen of Trumps, 8 to 1 against Lebel and The Dreamer, 10 to 1 against Pinh're and Coalscuttle. Justice has been scratched for all engagements at the meeting.
