EPIPHANY INDUSTRIAL EXHIBITION.
The promoters of tho Industrial Exhibition iirconnection wifch the Epiphany Band of Hope musb feel gratified at fche success which has attended fcheir efforts. Lasb nighb Sb. George's Hall was so crowded that visitors were provided wibh a vapour bath free of charge. Durintr the evening a bootpoli.hing competition took placo, for which 10 competed, Seaman Fred Wood of H.M.s. Tauranga officiating as judne. The prize was won by Samuel Mills. Additional awards to those already published a-e : Bridal bouquet, Ist, Miss K. Speight; highly commended, Miss Watson. Pot cactus, Miss Maud Bennett, highly commended. Miss Lipscombe acted adjudge of the girls' work, Mossrs Speight and Beere for that of bhe boys, while Mr Jattrey was judge of made boobs. New items added to the exhibits are a seb of mounted tusks lent by Mr A. Wiseman, two handsome pictures by Mr W. H. Smith, a jug 100 years old, some old pictures, a model Sedan chair, and paddle and bow lent by Mr R. S. Lincoln, and curios lent by tho Rev. J. Tnggs. A special prize was awarded Mr . William Mills for iron casting work done by him. One very interesting exhibit is a copy of a London newspaper" over '200 years old which is the property of bhe Rev. Mr Lush. Durino- the evening a comedoibba entitled "Family Jars" was given in a manner fchab caused great, amusement. The exhibition will be again open to-night, when another performance will take place.
