TeKapo leftSydneyon Saturday night for Auckland. The locally-owned brigantine Stanley, • Capb. D. H. McKenzie, is now on her way across here from Newcastle coal-laden. Messrs Lane and Brown, shipbuilders, of Whangaroa, will build a new coasting scow shortly, of large dimensions, on aomewhab improved principles. The Northern Company's s.s. Wellington 13 still in ihe Auckland Graving Dock undergoing repairs and overhaul. She remains in dock for several days yet. The ship Columba, ab the Queen-streeb Wharf, is making good progress with her loading for London. She has, in addition to her other cargo, about 800 bales of wool aboard. The American barque Lizzie Curry, 498 tons, Capt. Curry, is now on her way across hove from Newcastle with a load of coals. On discharging she loads here for New York direct. This morning the paddle-steamer Birkenhead was launched from Messrs Henderson and Spraggon's slip, Customs-street, having undergone a thorough overhaul extending over a fortnight. *Tho schooner Louie, Capt. Geo. Bell, Thames to Lyttelton, was sighted 50 miles off Cuvier Island by the American barque Essex, which arrived from the South on Saturday. The Norwegian barque Mentone is rapidly completing her loading of kauri gum for New York. She takes from here about MOO cases gum, and sails about the end of the week for Wellington, where she fills up with flax for bhe States. The Hatiraki S.S. Company's smart steamer Paeroa is making excellent running in tho Auckland—Thames ■ -River trade. She now calls at the Thames wharf, in coniunctionwifchthes.e. Ruby., The Northern Company's s.s. Ohinemuri 13 also rnnning r egular trips up the river. The Anchor Line steamer Kennedy, of Wellington, rau ashore in the Manawatu Fiver on Friday. An effort was made to ?ec£e her off, but this was unsuccessful. Asthe water is becoming lower every tide, ifcwm probably be another week before she geta oit The s.s. Australia, 260 tons, Gapb.
