CHAPEL-STREET SCHOOL CONCERT.
Last Friday evening the scholars of the i !i=ioel-streeb school gave an entertainment
■■■ ftich was very well patronised, the V-nnperance Hall being nearly filled. The ■ .'iidren in the lower division, under Mrs J -een, sang several songs very nicely, and action "song took well. The upper ■ vision, conducted by Miss Cleveland, i ■ v.3 several pieces with much acceptj -co, the ti;tne being remarkably good - The Ton Little Isigger Boys" brought • iv n bhe house,, and bho nursery rhymes in . -urac'ter caused much amusement. A < ntetto, "Little Boy Blue," was much i ~-,ired for the blending of the voices and : ~■! correct time. A trio ot three weo ones, ■• 1 hree Little Forms," made one wish to •■ i k them oil', they looked so nice and sang :-vreetly. The recitations were very ■ ■'•[ rendered, with good expression ;'i feeling, especially "If I Were ■ ,\\a'x," in \vliich the children did credib .choir instructor. The dunabell exercise, • -lav Mr Brown's direction, elicited so : ; r;ii applause thab it was gone over again. ' '.:'music was played by Mrs Parkinson, , -,;, showed thab she was an accomplished ;' ..list. The precision and smartness with • i, oh tho exercises were gone through re- ! m f.'rcab credit on Mr Brown. We must ~ ioi «-et an item thab quite carried the ..ience, "Cock Robin," by a little boy of Mr Burlinson was directing mabtors, i "i had a kindly word for his oid pupils and '. ••• parents.
