TRAINS IN .COLLISION.

LOSS OF LIFE,

New York, December 5. Two freight trains collided ab Thompson, Connecbicub, and wreckage was dashed inbo by an express brain. Tho debris took fire, and many of the waggons and cars were burnt. The engines were destroyed. Three persons wero killed and five injured. Ac St. Paul, capital of Minnesota, a wall of a building which had been injured by a fire fell, killing ten workmen and injuring fifteen others.

Tho Connecticut railway accident was doe to an error of the pointsman.
