"THE PIRATES."
The k Pirates of Penzance," though it stands third on the list of attractions provided by the Juvenile Opera Company in order ot production, is by no means the least successful selection from their repertoire. On Saturday night "{The Pirates " attracted a very large audience at the Opera House, and the performance went well. The stage business was capitally carried out, the choruses were well rendered throughout, and the soloists appeared to good advantage. The audience entered heartily into the spirit of the opora, and again and again the stage was strewn with bouquets won from the hands of admiring patrons by the more popular of the principals, Mis 3 Mitchell and Miss Everett getting the lion's share of those floral tributes. The demands made in the way of encores were frequent, and led to the repetition of many of the vocal "gems," while the scenery, the beautiful costumes, and the artistic grouping of the children in the various scenes called forth very pronounced admiration. The "Pirates" will be repeated this evening, and this will conclude the Auckland season.
