H.H.—lf you read the article you will see that the statement that the million expended upon the central line will "not yield a farthing of interest" refers to the period when the whole of the money ha 3 baen expended on that work. Of course the balance of £356,107 unexpended on the 31st of March is now yielding interest. Even ardent champion 3of the central route scarcely venture to claim that the line will pay more than working expenses for many years to come.
