PAI-URANGA HUNT CLUB RACES
The annual race-meeting; in connection with the Pakuranga Hunt Club is being hold afc Ellerslie this afternoon. Mr Thos. Morrin it acting .as judge and Mr E. D. Halstead as starber, while bhe Artillery Band is discoursing a choice musical programme. Therewasafairattendance. The course is heavy from tho tains which have fallen. At a meeting of the stewards it was decided that the Government totalisator tax be not deducted, which means that the tax falls on the Club. Andrew and L. Adams have charge of the totalisator. Farmers' Plate Handicap, of 25 soys, once round the Steeplechase course. Tawhana (Mr Craig) * Martiana ~L Dundee ... 3 Won easily. Falcon, tho favourite, broke down badly. Time, 3min .Usee. Dividend, £2 18s. Open Maiden Plate Handicap, of 25-ovs, 7 furlongs. Woodbine (Davis) - 1 Tom Boy (Hickson) ~ Ma Boughal (Hodgson) .., 3 Nine horses started. Won by a length. Time, 1.34. Dividend, £3 19s. Pakueakga Hunt Club Cup, of 50sovs, about 3£ miles. Jim «... - I Relation _ Hurricane '••• ° Tlfe win was very popular, and owner and horae were loudly cheered.
