.: Ottawa, September 7. The Committee which was appointed to investigate the charge of selUng Government positions against Mr Cochrane, M.P., have admitted that he proved he had restricted himself to selling places for the purpose of raising election funds, a practice which has prevailed in the Dominion for years. Ottawa, September 8. At the request of Sir H. Langevin> his resignation as Minister of the Public Works department has been accepted by the Cabinet.
